Its all puppet requests now and I guess It used to be use an NPC you could talk to and order stuff.
Why was this changed to a method that takes so much longer? I wasn't here for the change, and could it possibly be reverted in some state?

I am also not familiar with the old system, just the current one. I am confused by this statement of it being all puppet requests and that it used to be an npc you could talk to…is that not the same process?
I am all for improving systems I actually use in the game but I just don't see the progress killing problem here . A shortage of staff sure but that hits everywhere.
Having rp plot points being stalled for a month over something getting imported kinda sucks. I know GM time is limited so Im trying to come up with a solution that works for both players and staff
My solution wouod be to revert to an NPC that can just store buy from but have there be a three day waiting period for staff to review what was ordered. Something any staff can glance at and go, yay or nay and then not have to do a whole puppet request.
As for the idea of automation, I could see the appeal. I think that yeah, having a command to where you just cut out the first step of the puppet request can reduce a lot of redundancy, but it also eliminates an RP aspect that staff are shooting for. This period also gives staff a chance to review and maybe offer you some guidance if you made a mistake in terms of price, the functionality of your order, or maybe there is a policy change that they notice the rarity needs editing. There are also some items that are not listed in an already kind of automated command that you need to ask about. I'm not staff so I am just offering my opinion on it not the "way it works" so take that as you will.
