Candy Questions
Is it too thin?

Morning!

I was just curious. If you have five NPCs who buy Candy and twelve people checking them regularly, this kind of gets a little silly. Wouldn't it be hard to sell Candy in the Dome? Is there a way to add a few more?

This used to not be an issue, funnily enough, due to a glitch. It's intentionally limited like this, though the economy of the game was booming when a glitch was making it so everyone could sell drugs to NPCs without issue. I suggest asking around IC to find other NPCs to sell to.
There aren't anymore topside as far as I know. I know the mix has more.
There definitely are some topside
I am aware of the ones topside and to keep it not specific to IC detail though I am being vague. There aren't as many as the mix and I know mixers who go topside since they buy higher ticket items.

All I'm saying is that it's really tight. I get that they want people to do things for chy and to find other avenues but there are limits.

Destroy the competition.
Once again I regret asking. It's fine.
I also found the limited amount of buying NPCs topside a bit frustrating, adding more could help but ultimately people might still beat you to it either way because the game is saturated with candy.

All I can suggest is getting to them first, destroying your competition as Crashdown said, or hiring people to run it to the NPCs you aren't able to get to yourself.

Hiring people kinda negates from it being one of the few ways to make coin up top. It's all good :) Just accept it as it is.
Well no, because you would take a cut and some money is better than none, but you do you.
Barely.

You pay 1500 for candy. You make 1900 back - 2300. You give someone half and risk losing chy.

If you're buying at retail prices, hiring others to run it for you is not a good idea, of course. There's always negotiating different deals, or becoming a supplier yourself. Running candy isn't supposed to be a sustainable way to make a fortune either way, however.
It's been while since I've played topside so some details might have changed. There may or may not be a period in which you are unable to use and access what I consider to be the single most powerful tool available to most corpies. Once you have persevered long enough and are granted access to all of the tools corpies get access to, things can dramatically change.

In my opinion, corpie 'hustle' is not meant to look like mixer hustle. Running, doing side gigs, selling candy. All of that is secondary at best. In my opinion, the number one best way for a corpie to make additional chyen, or 'hustle' as most like to call it, is all about wielding the corporations wealth to your character's advantage. It's not any of the more automated systems limited by weekly caps or even those automated quests that were recently disabled.

Learn to wield the corporations money to your character's advantage and your bank account will grow and you will start to feel like you are playing an actual corpie. It will take some creativity to find reasons to spend the corporations money. It will take some balls and smarts to make sure you get a little pay day every time. It will take time and effort to hire people and 'do the paperwork' for lack of a better generic term that doesn't give away too much IC information. But running crates and selling things to NPCs also takes time and effort.

I don't know how long your character has been a corpie. It sounds like it hasn't been crazy long and I suspect that access to the tools needed to start wielding your corporation's chyen has either only recently been unlocked or is coming soon. If I were a new corpie I'd be spending this early time learning the ropes and figuring out a bunch of ways I can pay other PCs things in the name of my corp. Things that are themely, involve others and are reasonable enough to gain the corporations approval.

Good luck and have fun!

Grey I think I'm catching what you're meaning however in my situation, there's no reason to use said tools you're talking about. I think I've been told there's one scenario I'd even use them.

I know that topside is different than the mix. However, it is very hard to be 'better' and to do that CPI strong shit when a mixer can hustle and make more chy in a day than you can in a week.

And yes, I know running candy isn't supposed to make one rich, but there aren't many other hustles available. Or I haven't been shown them.

Hi all,

Just a general reminder that we should not be sharing IC information, IC pricing/payouts, or advice on how to ICly navigate situations on the BGBB. IC topics and guidance are best left for IC mentorship.

Thanks!

Starter corporate salaries for jobs that require a pulse and little else are larger than the weekly income cap which is still itself more than most player characters will make.

If you believed most Mixers were making ten thousand chyen or more every day throughout an entire week you were very mistaken and being given bad information.

Sorry Ares!

Also Ox1mm I'm going off my IC knowledge of what my character and those around mine made.

That doesn't help at all but thanks :)
I feel like that help file is very helpful to someone in your situation! Everyone here has played the game for a long time and has had similar frustrations and learning experiences. These suggestions that are being given to you may not be what you'd like (such as staff agreeing with the complaint and adding more NPCs to buy the things you have) but are instead sidestepping the problem or helping you branch out and find other ways to accomplish the same goals.

Long and short answer here is that nothing is changing, the issue at hand is working as intended and it's up to you to adapt.

It's not helpful at all actually but I can't go into why as that's IC. So. Yes. Nothing worth discussing. I'm sorry for bringing it up.
Thanks for your input, everyone. Going to go ahead and shut this down for now since it seems we're not able to address the OPs concern without posting IC information on the BGBB.
