Stick your @shortdescs that you'd like to see in game!
N.B gender ambiguous names are not allowed (I'm not staff, just what they told me). For example 'Teen' 'Wretch' 'Youth'
Belle
Minx
Nymph
Siren
Would suggest male ones, but I can't see their list!

I'm not too concerned about it for my own use, but it sticks out to me that 'mano' is on the male list, but 'mona' isn't on the female list. Seems like a common enough term to fit just as well as its male counterpart.

Available terms have been updated! I worked hard to balance things between the genders based on categories, not just the spitballing. The 'boi' term has been retired as it overlapped with femboy and because it has different meaning in the male and female homosexual communities. Since it could mean either gender, its not useful in this context.
New Masculine Terms:
patron
bruce
hombre
cholo
droog
New Feminine Terms:
lesbian
diva
mona
chola
devotchka
I did not include the slurs at this time. :)

I could never find one I really wanted for my character. Femboy always seemed too girly/or easily mistaken for a boy that identifies as a girl. Fag or queer isn't necessarily correct, either.
I'd like to have 'twink' added to the male list. Pretty please? c:
Surprises me that it's not already a thing!

The game is pretty heavily populated now. Lots of people wear hoods or shrouds. While there are plenty of variable nouns, you're locked into having one size adjective. This can make working around shrouded people problematic as some commands don't accept ordinals. Yes, disguises should make things confusing or chaotic, but sometimes they also outright break stuff and this would be a good way to help make that less of an issue.
Basically, add a few adjectives for people to choose from based on their size. Other things like attractiveness could still override them as they do now. These don't need to be gendered, but the current existing ones could probably remain gendered.
Short+thin: Waifish, Slight, Tiny
Short+average: Small, Short
Short+heavy: Round, Pear-shaped, Dumpy
Average+thin: Thin, Lean, Skinny
Average: Normal, Typical, Unremarkable
Average+heavy: Heavy-set, Fat
Tall+thin: Slender, Gaunt, Willowy
Tall+average: Lanky, Long-legged
Tall+heavy: Big, Enormous, Huge
thank you and god bless

I still wanna see 'twink' added to the male list!
Please? :o
I wonder what @Johnny thinks of the suggestions so far. Y'think he'd check? In-game it still says to give staff a poke if we don't 'see anything we like' in the @shortdesc change menu. It confuses me a little on where to bring this up.
I really like that thing about describing your build more, even in disguises! Puny and petite is becoming a bit generic at times. +1 to @Vera.

I agree, puny and petite are like, to me anyways, like -very very common-. Perhaps too common. More variances would be great.

I don't think I should bug staff about it in xhelp is all, but it DOES say
"Who your character is: (at a glance)
If you don't see something you need, bug us."
But @Johnny has replied to this thread before, so maybe it's still a legit way of suggesting these things efficiently?
And yeah, like @Vera said, more variances to CHOOSE from regarding your character's adjective could be really cool, but possibly involve a lot of coding.

Sry about doublepost, but..
Why I think 'twink' should be added is because it is a -very- common term in the gay community. Maybe moreso than 'fag', and that's an option as a @shortdesc. It also makes it more clear that it is someone who isn't TOO feminine but still boyish. Using the 'boy' term may make it seem like they are underage.
Again, this is very, very specific. But I think it could be a useful indicator.

Seems like the thread died down a bit again and I feel like writing down a list of as many ideas as I could think of that could be useful to add, maybe in creating some variety or just because they're common slang and aren't used too much as unisex terms.
Some have a slash in between as it could have a different alternative and I think staff could go with whichever they prefer, if any. They're just suggestions, after all! c:
Suggestions for 'male':
dawg
twink
broski
homie/homes
gangsta
pops
daddy/dad
jerk/jerkoff
jackass
fritz
joe
Suggestions for 'female':
doll/dolly
milf/MILF
catty
bird/dove
witch
bella
jane

ive been told androgynous can be used in a title but wont be pit into a shortdesc because for coding and balance reasons there has to be a differentiation between m/f, otherwise it could be abused
@title is where i used the andro thing in the past, but they aren't going to put something in where both males and females will have an identical shortdesc

I fail to see how it can be abused when any person can change their shortdesc at a whim, so care to elaborate on how it can be abused?

Everyone would just hide their gender when committing crimes and then switch back to a gendered appearance afterwards to make them more difficult to track. Rather than an RP consideration it would just be a mechanical bonus.
Sufficient disguise skill should be required for that sort of thing. Also 'androgynous' is not really a noun. You'd want a word like 'person' in that case.

Yes, but the description of a shroud implies that you cannot tell what gender the wearer is, so wouldn't it be meta for them to get the gender right?
