Sure, people rent apartments to use as their main pad, but we also rent apartments to use as safehouses, meeting spaces, gear stashes, etc. Unfortunately, there is a clear lack of rentable 3-room units in all of the smaller-to-middle-sized apartment complexes in the mix.

This is why I am suggesting adding another floor or two of 3-room apartment units to every major apartment complex in the Mix. This will help encourage biz, interpersonal collaboration, and more chances for people to sell and betray one another for door codes.

If you don't want to mess with the heights of buildings, perhaps add additional hallways, or some subterranean floors like at Westinghaus?

Isn't there one with like seventeen floors of 3-room pads? I can't imagine they're all filled.

It'd be nice if there were more of the "rarer" pads like the ones near Deji. But I can't imagine Crown is filled up.

I think the reasons why they are available there and not other places is precisely the point, but I don't disagree. Some nicer westinghaus units would be cool.

Could some of this be alleviated if they reopened Large Pads for memberships again? Move some of the people in 3-room up to bigger spots, occupy those otherwise empty pads. Trickle down housing!

There are multiple locations with a bunch of vacancies though. I personally think the eviction time could be lowered on some of them for those that move out of the really occupied ones.

Agreed with Thrillimanjaro, though it doesn't seem like they wanna make perma pads a thing again… I am disappointed I missed my chance, they haven't been a thing since I was a newbie, iirc.

I personally would love to see large pad memberships available again, though I'm not actually sure if there's enough large housing (particularly in the Mix) to accommodate people interested in those.

I do think that the majority of large flats I've come across (topside and mix-side) have been empty, though. If not with memberships, I'd love to see some more broadened ways to earn them through RP.

The crown is largely a none starter for a lot of people, doesn't matter if it has a ton of rooms, if it's not safe for your character you can't go there.

@cata I've been playing for 10 years and I've only know one character to have those perma pads. I personally want them to make a comeback too. I've been begging so much the staff probably hates hearing about it now.

We are not bringing back permanent pads, likely ever. It's a non starter. Too much effort for the builders who should be building stuff for everyone.

I won't rule out large pads at some point.

We've added so much housing in the mix I have a hard time hearing we need more. Sometimes ya gotta risk a bit and get a pad somewhere that isn't super safe.
