Ambient music messaging.
Playlists as an ooc-message.

With the recent addition of the SenseNet OOC mental state reminders, we now have a solid precedent for using subtle system messaging to reinforce atmosphere and roleplay without relying on repeated OOC chatter.

Building on this, I would like to propose a configurable ambient music messaging system for bars and other establishments. This would allow staff to set or change a short, atmospheric description of what music is currently playing in a location. The message could appear periodically or upon entry, similar in spirit to other ambient cues already supported by the code.

Implementing this would significantly reduce the need for repetitive local OOC messages about what is playing, while also strengthening immersion and consistency for everyone present. It gives staff a lightweight tool to shape tone and mood, supports more organic RP, and helps locations feel distinct and alive without adding mechanical overhead.

Overall, this would be a small quality-of-life improvement with a meaningful impact on atmosphere, roleplay clarity, and OOC noise reduction.

A boombox or jukebox item could be cool for ambient music. I'd also like to be able to put one in my pad…
Redecorating apartments to have sounds systems, boomboxes and other means of playing music is already possible via the redecoration command and service-requests. Most bars and nightclubs already have existing sound systems, and this ambient message about the currently playing track would contain an url to youtube etc (which can be inputted by staff of said establishment at their leisure.)
