Bring the Rat king to life
Rat kings please!

I'd really like to see actual rat kings in game. Could make it so that when ever four or five or more giant rats gather together they form a rat king. Tougher, stronger, and a nice little beast for Midbies to fight other than the deadly sewer dragon. I'd really like to see more sewer creatures even if it isn't a rat king.

Rats actually used to be a lot tougher but people complained because newbies kept dying. How do we balance that?
It's not every rat.

you could do a circumstance like what rillem said, making clearing rats an important job.

Or you could make it an NPC to be animated by staff for random death, destruction, and good times.

Maybe the rats in the gold sewers are bigger and badder since they feed off scraps from the fat cat corp cits? Maybe also the bigger rats are worth more to corpse chop shops? Or just the one R.O.U.S. that spawns once a month or something.

This would allow for the Red sewers to stay the same danger level and open up a higher risk area that people could ICly govern as they train people up.

You could also consider adding other dangers that are more rare but scaled up.

Mutated sewer ghouls?
Crocodiles?
Rouge weaponized felibots?

Yeah, Timmy lost his frog down the sewer now it's the size a sedan. The sewer has multiple levels to it too. Most people just don't know where they are. You could put stronger stuff the further down you go. OH! GIANT DUNG BEATLES! MAYBE We could even your the carapaces for sewer armor!

I have a key question: what is the indented thing this adds to the game? What is the gameplay niche this solves? As downside it will get more people randomly killed, on upside maybe sometimes start some tiny story?
