Chrome up the Jumpers

Just a thought, but if the random jumpers who plummet to their doom could somehow be implemented to occasionally have chrome installed in their body, I think it would make an interesting (if slightly morbid) mechanic to introduce slightly used chrome into the game world.
This seems reasonable. Recently-fired corporate employees diving to their deaths probably would have an implant or two.
I like this. Provides practice for ripper docs in the making. Doesn't even need to be expensive shit.
There's people who already farm them. No need to introduce even more profit into it.
I like this idea too, though it should definitely be a rare thing. Maybe once a week or so. Maybe there could be some sort of thing where corpsec or NPCs are tasked with getting that chrome back for the corp, so there's some challenge for people trying to take it.
With the existing OOC issues about people using automated systems to farm and not partaking in conflict as intended, this'd have to be implemented in such a way that there would have to be some kind of risk involved.
Theoretical takeaways.

1) This could potentially generate conflict, because you're no longer talking about just a bit of chyen, but something people might use.

2) Ripper docs definitely need more incentive to obtain tools and engagement beyond the upper echelons.

3) The available items could be some low end common things. Pain editors, eyes, neurals or hardened neurals. Maybe an occasional hand, arm, foot, or leg, which are generally only supplementary and people have complained about before. Concerned about farming? Good news. Corporates are extravagant. Have the chrome pre-sculpted with some absurd nonsense so that the only people who will buy it are those concerned with function over fashion, and repeat solicitors of these products would end up looking quite monstrous.

I may have more to add later. Don't know. Back to life!

While of good intention, less auto/generated income and less reasons to not target fellow characters please.

Cowbell is right.

I dunno', I'm a bit sick of how it's still kinda scary to get chrome over the risk of getting ripped for it. This is cyberpunk and people can't get chrome because you might get killed for it? If this makes that need to instakill people over chrome slightly smaller, I say go for it.
I love the idea. But with staff cutting back ways to make money in an atttempt to make conflict, i don't see it happening.

But it's 10/10 good idea in my book.

If this is added there should be a random chance of the corpse carrying a terrible disease (one that maybe doesn't spread so easy… because zzzz), or maybe some epic malfunction that causes a cortex bomb to go off and cover you in blood.

Or we could just add the thing I've wanted forever - a human bigmouth that blasts over SIC when someone's ripping their body. Preferably it'd be broadcast to either judges or corpsec, so they have to reclaim the chrome from past employees.

Okay calm down PT

...Why am I like this D:

Having the jumper's chrome be damaged (as a result of the fall, i guess) could be a good way to keep people from farming it as much.
As with what other people mentioned, automated income is currently getting slashed in the name of conflict generation. Regardless of what anyone thinks about that, however, the issue with this suggestion is that there's no good way to track the monetary gains against the income cap. Taking money from an NPC corpse can be tracked, but items are not so easy to code around, as far as I am aware.
In my opinion, the gameplay chain of conduct to convert found cybernetics into actual chyen within some human tolerable timespan is sufficiently complex and costly that cyberware that costs less than 20,000c retail holds essentially zero value aftermarket.

I strongly suspect there is already vastly more used cybernetics in the game than there is demand for even an entire year of player character purchasing. Unless NPCs are landing with flashboosts in them, I don't see it making a dent in any direction good or bad.

I do like the idea of organ harvesting from the recently departed for extra chyen though.

Regardless of the impact on economy whether big or small, I think the main issue is encouraging the reliance on PvE/NPCs/automated systems that don't have a lot of IC/RP/PC interaction as it stands to get loot rather than targeting other PCs for it.
