Why not let a burning cigarette work like a lighter?

Well… aside from the 'nth' issues, no reason why not that I can see.
It's just trying to keep track of which one's lit and which one your lighting could be tricky.
>light first cig with second cig
The cigarette's not lit.
...and pandemonium ensues.
Well... maybe not pandemonium. But confusion for sure. ;)

I think this is a good idea. Lighting a new smoke off an old one is a clasic trick, shared among street kids and lovers in old black and white movies.
While we are on the subject of tobacco:
Why don't we have other brands of smokes? (My character would kill for a good chinese non-filtered, or even a lucky strike.)
Why are there no place to buy cigarettes on Gold and Green?
And where do those Corpies running around Gold buy their Cigars? Is there a hidden cigar bar up on blue? Could that antique store/bar on green sell cigars?

You wander through the market place, looking for anything of interest.
Amidst the mostly worthless items piled on display a TruColorz dildo catches your eye.
You say, "Ouch, my eye!"

Because there's not enough hours in the day, room in the database, and voulenteer coders avalible.
Which is why all of thoes things end up 'on the list'.

Please forgive if there was any rudness to my tone in the last post. It was unintended. This MOO has some of the best writen code I have ever seen.
What programing language does Sindome use? How and where can you learn it? I know any damn fool can point out things that need to be changed. I would like to try to help out.
Thanks to all the programers and GM's…

Lambda is a programming language unique to LambdaMOO (the driver were running) alone. A google search (www.google.com) will definately tell you more about it, Pavil Curtis (the creator), and all things Lambda.
It, however, is by no means a unique language. It borrows from the basics of most programming languages, so if your proficent in coding in another language, you will undoubetedly find many similarities.
Sindome relies on a ton of 'home-grown', highly customized libraries, making it unique in it's own right.

Why light a cig with another cig when you could be a man and do it with a toaster?
Puh-lease.

I've been away, so I don't know the scripting status here, but do you need any coding help for lambda, and are you still using your ingenious babble-on script? I noticed I got attacked by a SICPuppy earler - sirens and all…

Yes, we're always looking for people with coding experience.
And yes, Babble-on is now in just about every part of the game. Most recently it was used to enable the new Tattoo guns so GM's could make modifications to the messages you get when someone is working on them.
