Cyberware for Bots
Chrome all the way down.

The name says it all. I think it'd go a long way to making rigging more interesting and it's entirely themely for robots to have the same sorts of mechanical upgrades. Also, the levers for balancing it are already in place and could be tweaked slightly to just make certain packages only compatible with certain bot models.
This sounds great. You can even do parity with a lot of it, and simply call them 'modules' or something more robotic to make it fit.
+1
There are a few things in game that point towards where bot parts are already considered along the same lines of cyberware, so I would think making some more direct overlap might be doable, maybe?

That said, either way, having more options for some of the parts available would be really nice, if they don't already exist. Things like the eye modules for night vision or thermographic vision, or maybe even like the cyberware weapons for the humanoid bots would be pretty cool.

Doubtful of any of this ever seeing any light of day.

Mainly because of balance. There is no way in hell people will allow others to sit in their apartments and use robots to fight on their behalf. The pushback would be overwhelming. Hell, you don't see Eisenhowers ever because they're not really effective at what they're designed to do (combat) due to all the restrictions, and it's doubtful any meaningful change will ever be seen to make them an actual affordable threat on the battlefield.

I kind of get that, but at the same time, isn't a lot of that countered by the cost and difficulty to obtain some things? Even after the price reductions, it's still a few hundred thousand to afford an Eisenhower, putting it well outside the price range of most people. Not to mention many parts require a license to obtain. On top of that, if it's lost, you're out all those expenses, just like with chrome, but seeing far more limited reusability.
I don't even necessarily mean the combat cyberware. I'd be find with just making certain bots able to do something beyond being a novelty puppet. There should be bots that are capable of surveillance on par with someone with cyberware. I'd go further and say that bots should be have more access to basic actions that player bits do, things like hide and sneak or frisk and disarm. Again, I'd be totally fine gating these behind modules with CPU and battox energy cost.
Definitely would like more actions! Being unable to hide/sneak, search, or even READ sucks, and adding those would be really nice. I could definitely understand if they required more advanced parts with higher costs like you said, Thrillimanjaro.
