I was reading the Deathball lore files and saw that it's not actually something we can ever hope to play. Understandably difficult to code and even harder to have active players for teams.

Maybe however it could be a bit of an honorary title for late game players who are looking to become Media stars that don't involve artistry?

Deathball star-starlette. Add their name to the deathball rotation. Might be a little boring not having the game to play but it still could be cool to have the title and fame for it.

I'm not sure if it'd work as you think it would because ICly Deathball players have exclusive IC perks to them (such as having special cyberware, genetic modification) and so on that isn't available to the public.

It wouldn't really work because you'd either have to make players special cases ICly, or tone down the lore so that Deathball players aren't exceptional, which wouldn't really make sense considering the game and how it's played.

Thanks for clarifying! I wasn't aware Deathball stars had special mods and perks. I just assumed they were regular professional athletes.

You can give 'help deathball' a read if you'd like - it clarifies a lot and explains how the players are enhanced :)

Ah after me reading this same help file 4 times i've now just read the part about the modifications. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. ANYWAY.

Maybe not a Deathball Star then. But maybe like professional Athlete star? Dunno if that'd match theme any more. Just thinking of other things.

It could be a cool way to sunset a character. Even if they don't make it into the official rotation, they could be part of the lore.

As the creator of death ball (which I blatantly ripped off of blitzball & amalgamated with mutant league football/hockey), I have also hoped players would take some initiative to play it in the streets.

A simple prop item that is a synth or real leather could be thrown and intercepted then combined with the usage of grapple, guard, and charge could be done fairly easily.

Getting people to show up and play is the real challenge.

I do love what you've done with it Reefer! I believe there are props for it for sale IC. Just have not seen them used anywhere or anyone advertising play. Thanks for your input though!
