Give us fire extinguishers so we can fight fires and don't have to wait for the often way too slow automated fire drones.

Make them available to WCS and buyable or so.

I think itd be awesome for Sanitation to have yet another unpleasant dangerous task hoisted on them just from a story perspective. They're already totally strained and it seems sooo themely for the city to chuck more at them. Undertrained, underrepresented, mistreated, ill-equipped. Yes please :P I do think fire extinguishers should be restricted to WCS though. Being forced to mobilize WCS to tend to a fire could make the fires seem more important.

Sometimes Ive seen Judges run in but Ive always been a little ehhh on that. Maybe the Judges could just get massive watercannons that are badass and heckin level the place with a huge mess for Sanitation if they're forced to use them.

There was some community support the last time this came up including from me, that I personally felt was completely squandered by not a single player who claimed to want it making any legit in-game effort in taking the initiative with the tools and fire-fighting mechanics already available to demonstrate that more complex player-driven firefighting was something that people would actually do and that would add to the game overall.

With dev time as limited as it is and new development being in triage mode, I suspect there would really have to be less OOC Player Talk and more IC Character Walk to show that more advanced fire mechanics were worth the billable hours to make them happen.

Want fire extinguishers please. It would be more effective than the current system that there is, and I feel like giving players more opportunities to kinda "be the hero" rather than letting NPCs do it is always good.

Oxygen-suppressant grenade that sucks all the oxygen out of a room. Kills fire and knocks out people who don't have proper protection against it.

I think having not one, but two different instant-KO grenades that need different protective measures would be disastrous. Foam grenades or something, maybe.

That is a very good point.

In any case, I do feel that some sort of foam grenade/fire suppressant that players can wield is necessary. The 911 call requires you stay in the same room as the fire until the fire drones arrive, which can be an agonizingly long time.

To be fair, player wieldable objects are not needed. Some players seem to prefer such an option but there I think there are alternatives. For example, I am very sure that it would be possible to update the fire drone code to work as long as the caller is in a room neighboring the fire. I am also very sure that the timing could be adjusted if desired.

Most people already don't care about fires or fire damage at all, and repair it instantly as soon as the fire goes out, then go back to rping in the location like nothing happened so I don't really think fire extinguishers will add much to the dynamic of firebombings rather than make it even more worthless to do.
