Grid 4 - Automatic Node Redirects
Redirect nodes to... other nodes!

There are more than a few old/redundant nodes on the Grid from the Grid 2 and 3 days where people would get locked out of nodes and create a new one for the same purpose. It would be nice if there were a markup tag you could use on a node that would mean when you load that node, it actually loads a different node. Given how you no longer need to access the node's page to update it anymore, this seems like a nice thing to have. For example:

NODE: Node1
#redirect-node
Node2
#endredirect-node

Then, when someone views Node1, it would instead load Node2. Of course, this might not apply to viewing the node source, and certainly wouldn't apply to editing the node. You would still be able to edit Node1 and remove the tag, or change where it redirects to.

I like this if there is a way to only make it go one level deep so you don't have to check for cycles or anything.
I honestly would much rather have a way to merge nodes and free up the old names.
you seem to make a habit out of shooting down any suggestion i make. yeah, sure, merging nodes to free up names would be nice, but it would probably be more of a pain in the ass to implement. also, why can't we have both?
