Height and weight nanos
just an idea

Height and weight reduction and addition nanos or drugs. Not been here long but as far as I can see those aren't options, Feel like in the future getting weight loss drugs or nanos would be as easy as getting any other body upgrade.
Don't want to share too much but I'd inquire about this IC.
Ask IC
The existence of biomodification in general is common knowledge to all characters in the SD universe so can be conveyed OOC to new players, though the specific process of their acquisition is generally something characters are going to have to find out the specifics of.

Control over these is tied to a more constrained IC system basically to make players deal with dice rolls and to stop them from fiddling with them obsessively which is roll-for-everything game design I don't really agree with, but for minor adjustments that reasonably would fall within a character's short descriptor (average, hulking, etc) I see no issue myself with making small descriptive changes as characters gradually fill or waste away, without bringing the Torment Nexus of game design (ie. biomods) into it.

This actually kinda makes sense though. You can change your sex through nanos and biomodification, so why not make this a thing? Nano weight loss, sounds corporate as fuck.
You can do this through biomodification.
Right. So they do sort of exist. I guess I was just thinking it would be a bit simpler. I can't really see how weight loss drugs would affect your numbers and stats beyond yeno…Being lighter and being able to make changes over time, Like with hairstyles, you can customize those and have them "Grow out" with one of those machines. Surely corporations have seen the junk food that Mixers eat. See that obesity is a problem and create a drug that "Makes you skinny" like Ozempic in real life.
Again… Ask IC, it's simpler than that.
It could be massively simpler, and indeed the tools are all there for it to be, there are actually player-side commands to set height and weight they're just disabled. The explanation is basically that Johnny prefers players to play the characters they get rather than the character they want and customization beyond character creation is all gated in various complex ways to discourage it to greater and lesser degrees, essentially so that players who really really really want it have some possible avenue but for everyone else and in general it's depreciated.
Also, while it's strictly speaking a rule for Game-Help and not the BGBB, I do think it would be helpful if players could move beyond FOIC responses. Everyone knows Find Out In Character, and there are ways to help and breadcrumb new players towards learning about the game and how to learn about it and promote discussion about it, that still respect the OOC/IC divide but lift new players up more than FOIC replies.
Seeing as this was added to the game, a suggestion might be that we add the Chargen Height/weight names alongside the numbers to the help cyberware files for these nanos. Like Short, average, tall. Heavy, husky, skinny whatever.
The cyberware help file only documents nanos and chrome the character already has so it wouldn't make the best reference for planning ahead, a help height and help weight redirecting to the same help build would probably be the way to go but I can't write it because I don't actually know the new values since the ranges got updated last year and I suspect some of the old descriptors from years ago have been removed.

If there's a player who has been through chargen a few times recently and knows how everything maps out they could post that information and I can write some help files, or they could do it with @new-help.

Help build is exactly what I was looking for, just couldn't find the words. But yes, this is exactly what I was suggesting. Thanks 0x1mm
