Longer explosion/fire damage.

Does anyone else think that when players take the time and resources to set up good bombs or fires, the damage should be harder to repair? I have seen massive explosions take place, only for the fire damage to be completely gone soon after with no trace.

I think that the damage should linger longer. It would make the world feel more alive, and make explosives add to the ambiance and just be cooler in general.
