IRL and presumably IC as well sewer gas consists mainly of methane, which is highly flammable. While you can argue even firing guns could set this off, using explosive devices or lighting fuses with a lighter in the sewers (except in more secure areas of it) should lead you to blowing yourself up and the sewer room you're in.

You can add lighting cigarettes or using a lighter in general as well to the list, and also emergency flares.

Agreed but only if poo mixed with cigarette butts, cup a joy lids, and other unmentionables fly everywhere. :P It would be nice if it didn't happen everywhere down there too. What about just where bergs back up?
