Standardize on WITH for devices

When the eNotes were last upgraded, the verbs were all changed to use WITH as the syntax.

verb variable WITH object

eg

edit (filename) WITH enote

Can that be made standard for all, or at least most, electronic devices?

For example the Nito-Kodak cameras still have a combination of WITH, ON and FROM

Standards would be good. Though in some cases the natural language doesn't flow using with.

I can take a photo with my phone or on my phone but I would print it from my phone.

I don't recall which the cameras use currently which is a good indicator it isn't normalized.

I am very used to thinking of doing things on my phone instead of with it. Maybe instead of encompassing standards, aliases to make some of these prepositions interchangeable in these cases.
I can't really think of a situation where a different preposition on the same verb and subject and object can produce a different outcome. Prepositions can make the commands sound more natural but could commands get parsed the same with just
Sorry, those brackets devoured that post. That should read:

…but could commands get parsed the same with just verb subject object and avoid the grammatical confusion entirely?

I can think of one: put something on dresser and put something in dresser could POTENTIALLY differentiate between an interior storage and just placing something on top of it.

But in reality it's just a LambdaMOO thing. It's built into the engine and I doubt changing it would be very easy.

I agree that it would be nice to have some standards like that. Having the on and in prepositions would be awesome for a cabinet/shelf.
