It comes in little glass vials, I hear.

Hello my fellow cyberpunk junkies. I'de like to discuss something IU came up with in another thread, that I think would be a GREAT addition to the game.

An illegal narcotic anesthesia derived from corpses (we're all goo, right?)

This knock out juice would require someone to harvest it from corpses. The amount of corpses to fill a vial would vary, based on: state of corpse (how decayed), And the skills of the graverobber. (Based on medical stuffs)

This full container would be refined down to a vial by a chemist. Like other drugs, the skills of the chemist will increase the potency (knockout length, it should be, max, like half what legit knock out juice does) And decrease ADDICTION.

This juice should be very, addictive. It's essentially a refined narcotic in the streets super stronger then it should be, but with a super short half-life. Which just BREEDS addiction irl. I think, at the maxest of skills, it should have a 10% addiction rate.

This addiction would push the 'chrome addiction' gameplay to it's next level, imho. That chomie is lookin' to rip a fucker, and get his next hit of Z, better be careful.

So a synthetic opioid, basically?

Seems like a neat idea, although I just wanna point out RE: the "we're all goo" bit that judging from the cloning emotes and room descriptions, the "vat" is more like a 3D printer than a vat of goo or anything.

I love it sans the addiction, as honestly you just won't be getting chrome done often here, it's not like we have cosmetic options here to swap over etc. I'd rather it has some other nasty consequences than addiction.
I like this idea. Maybe it could give a reason to get those new chemical lab machines down into the mix too.
I think harvesting corpses is a great way to turn them into a resource worth fighting over if the market for illegal chrome shops were propped up.

Once again plugging having different grades of cyberware to install. I know if when I started playing there was an option for me to have a low quality cybereye that was prone to malfunction and had a high PDS load but only cost 1/3 of the Norma quality one they sold at CGH I would have jumped on it.

The OP idea however could be a fun way to compete with WCS for things or provide a shady source of income for corpse collectors. I like it.

Why though? Why would anyone use this when it's worse and more complicated (and ultimately more expensive) than all the other ways to knock a character unconscious?
Firstly: Some ways of knocking someone out are not okay for elective surgery. I have had staff yell at me for this.

Secondly: Somewhat safer

thirdly: The main option I see being used for illegal surgery, is immersion breaking to me, since I have some actual medical training and it would cause us all to bleed out during surgery. So I would genuinely like to see this stopped.

I don't personally think this would alleviate any of the issues with running an underground chrome operation, you're talking about something that would have to be done by players dozens or hundreds of times. The added mechanical complexity and downsides and development time here are over the top for what is one tiny tiny part of the overall gameplay loop which is already too complex in my opinion.
I think the concept is interesting but if you compare this to what's there now you'd really be looking for something much more turn-key. A sketchy compound sold in quiet locations that is implied to be refined from corpses, that costs about half of Fenta-99 is much closer to the level of complexity needed for something to be easier rather than harder.
Why would a street ripper need anesthetic or gutter anesthetic anyway? That's corpie shit.

A real ripper would just strap 'em down, sell 'em some painkillers, stick a bite guard in their mouth, and start cutting. This ain't a hospital, we ain't got IV drips of anesthetic and fancy tools. Being KO'd should be a luxury, not a requirement for surgery. VIP treatment for a ripper, because you're paying a premium to not be dissected while awake.

Alternatively: It's not as elaborate with complex crafting and distillation but there's a fairly good gameplay precedent for NPCs to take corpses and give something back for them.

Trading a fresh corpse for a renamed, reskinned vial of Fenta-99 would be pretty reasonable process for something like that in my opinion, easier to implement even if it is admittedly not a cool with all the mechanics described here.

That does seem like a fun thing to be put into a certain place in the park. Trade corpse, get fenta.
