Awesome Games Done Quick 2016
Prevent Cancer Foundation Charity Stream

Hey guys, I'd just like to bring to your attention for those who might possibly not be aware:

Awesome Games Done Quick 2016 is about to start within a few hours. If you're not familiar with GDQ, GDQ are a series of charity events run by Speed Demos Archive. Last year, AGDQ raised over 1.5 million dollars for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. SDA also host Summer Games Done Quick to benefit Doctors Without Borders.

But what is AGDQ? AGDQ is a 24/7 charity stream with people from the speedrunning community doing what they do best - speedrunning. It's typical for several world records to be broken at any given GDQ event, but the overall attitude is far from competitive - it's friendly and banter between the runners is good-spirited. After all, it's all for charity.

During the week of GDQ games are played around the clock with no breaks (except for the time it takes to get set up!), which means that runners are often putting their sleep and sanity on the line for your entertainment. It also means that during the event, if you're not able to catch much of the stream you can drop in at absolutely any time and see what they're up to.

If you're interested in speedrunning, video games, or simply the event itself and helping charity, please check out the Games Done Quick website at:

And of course if you're curious about what games are being run, or maybe you won't be able to sit around and watch for hours and hours but something might catch your eye that you'll want to see, take a look at the schedule:

Cheers, I hope this is of interest to at least one of you guys - GDQ events are personally among the highlights of my year, and I haven't missed one since I was introduced to them a couple of years ago.
