Now, dears, in case you wanted something a bit more sturdy than a mop… (as evidenced, mop vs wooden sword comes off second-best, even in the hands of an experienced street samurai...)

Wow, they certainly made that overly dramatic.  Heheh..  But I do like the slowmo scene with the katana breaking and part of it flipping around..  that'd make for a nice scene in the Sindome movie, don't you think?
