The passion of the Christ

Man, I think I was the only person watching that movie and not weeping. I mean, who doesn't know what will happen?

Mr. Brave Heart did a great job! Kudos for him.

First, the whole movie is in Aramaic and Latin. It couldn't be more perfect, it really immerses you into the time the story happens. And it really helps you into knowing who's who.

The whole wardrobe and sets/set dressing are awesome. The details and the veracity of it all is great. And not only the wardrobe sets the classes divisions it is historicaly correct, at that time purple and royal blue were the most expensive colors of the whole world and only the upmost ranking romans had it.

The actress that plays Maria isn't 25 years old godly beautiful and perfect. It is a woman that is beautiful and old, as a mother of a 30+ person would be. She has wrinkles and that's great.

But the most amazing part of the movie are the Makeup and Special Effects (CG is visual efects, don't mix them). Thru the whole scene where they torture Jesus, I was feeling like a little boy watching Star Wars for the first time. It is so graphical and so well done that I tought they used john doe's bodies from the local morgue. I even cheered at it, wich got my girlfriend to whisper "You're insane" at me.

It's definately a must see just for the whole scene where they woop him with wooden sticks and flails.

two bloody thumbs up.

Boy, nothing tells about the love of christ like a bunch of jews and romans beating the fuck out of a guy in full technicolor hyper-gore.

Yup.

Can ya feel the love?

If I want gore, I'll go to dawn of the dead. If I want to hear about the love and 'passion' of the bug JC, I'll talk to a priest.

I see this as a matter of efficient use of time.  We have two options here:
1. Watch the "Passion" with a running time of 2 hours and 6 minutes.  We take on say 10 minutes of travel time, 10 mintues of waiting for snacks, and a half hour of previews, you have slightly under three hours.

2.  Now we come to "Dawn of the Dead".  It  -does- have shorter running time of only 1 hour and 40 minutes, plus to 50 minutes of other stuff and whatever.  So, we're less 26 minutes so far.  Now, let's add in talking to the priest, again, you 10 minutes travel time, 10 for snacks, etc… Then you get to actually talking to the priest.  This is the real time taker.  You could end up there for hours.  Forutnatly, with all the recent scandal, priest will probably e pretty careful not to offer any basis for any type of suit, which would add significantly to the time.

Conclusion: Option number one will not only end up costing you less money to fulfill both goals, but will also take a lot less time.  Chill?

Iga's point was to separate the two, not put them together, man.
Nocturnal –->:bash:<--- Me
What if I took the priest with me to dawn of the dead? We could talk about Jesus in the car on the way there and back, and during the crappy commercials and previews. Gotta watch the good ones. That would mean I'd get 1 hour 40 mins of gore, PLUS 30-50 minutes of Jesus, all in one trip.

PLUS we could shave like 2 minutes off travel time using the carpool lanes…and if he drives, well, that's savings on gas!

Yeah? yeah? Whatcha think?

Damn, didn't think of that.  Definitely go with that one.
The best prophets are all undead, anyway.
Did you just say the best profits are in selling the dead?
Actually its quite profitable.

…uh..  I mean..
