Plenty of Chiefs, but not enough Indians.

Let me start by saying, SinDome is the best operational MOO Ive ever seen. But no one can deny we need more players. So here is my idea:

Red Level Tourism!

Give the guests the body of a foreign tourist, Japanese perhaps. Give them just enough chyen to get into trouble and a translator so that they can say a few simple things. Give them a scripted TERRA employee to show them around (Red is privatized ergo they would want to get as much chyen however they can). OR let locals sign up to be guides and let a Mix kid show them around. Setup simple scripted events to show off the wonders that is our MOO. Give them a taste, and I promise they will come back for more.

Red isn't 'privatized', security on Red is contracted out.

Technically though, all of Withmore is private property.

Guests are OOC to prevent them from causing issues in the IC world. I'm not willing to change that because I see what guests do and they generally don't know enough or care enough to be IC. Guests do one thing most that we hear about: disturb players. The overwhelming amount of guests aren't looking for a roleplaying enforced MOO. They try mud commands and then log off, usually after humping something or someone.

Sindome isn't fast paced. It's active in spurts and fits, but generally, its slow because we work on it in our spare time. If the first few minutes of a guests experience were outstanding, we'd be commiting a form of false advertising because it wouldn't accurately portray the world.

I do have upgrades to guest management planned in the form of holographic tour guides that only they can see and hear and talk to. This would replace the sign that we tell everyone to read and would be available thruout through tour of the game.

These holographic tour guides would be NPCs slaved to a script in order to manage them better.

Better help while their guests? Absolutely! Making them IC? No way Jose.

holographic tour guides that only they can see and hear and talk to

Yeah… I can just see a guest talkin to one:

"Damnit, Al! Why havn't I lept yet?!"

Yes, I'm a geek and I'm proud of it.

-Kevlar

Dean Anderson and Scott Bakula are two of Kevlar's heroes.

Can anyone but (possibly) Murphy name the show withot doing a google (or similar) search?

Oh that's easy… Quantum Leap.

Judge Murphy put WJF Magna-Cuffs on you.
You say, "Oh boy."

I volunteer to write the script! Or maybe I could just have Squisy do it…

Punches Keys on remote....
Remote Beeps...
Slaps remote....
Remote beeps sadly......

You're here to save the guests from boring intros Sam!

(I think squishy was the name of the big computer...squishy or ziggy or something)
