The factions in Sindome are constantly influencing each other. A player character can get in on that action by involving themselves with one or more faction throughout the game world. By doing actions that benefit the faction, such as getting them gear, or helping them in other ways, your level in the faction increases, and will add more benefits and jobs with said faction.
If you attack, work against, or do anything to harm another faction, your faction level will go down, resulting in appropriate responses due to this, such as mugging, insults and refusal of work. These are semi-automated systems built into the game world. The real faction roleplay comes when you officially join a faction. It's not easy to join a faction and you should expect this to be a time-consuming process but when it does happen, it's well worth it.
