You have them. You can hold things in them. You can hold things with 'hold ' or 'sheath ' to put them away
freehands/fh - Put away anything in your hands stash/lower/unwield/sling/sheath - Put away a specific object in your hand hold/use/wield - Take out a specific object drophands/dh - Drop anything in your hands
Remember: When you 'freehands' or 'stash' a drink, it will spill instead of going into your inventory. You will also be burned while trying to 'stash' lit cigarettes.
You can also 'examine' an object for more commands and ways to interact with it.
