Help for 'navigate'

Syntax: navigate descend
       navigate
       navigate execute
       navigate abort

Navigate is used by the space flight system to guide and fly spacecraft over large distances. Navigation in space, as opposed to the fly command, is done with the 3D navigator and navigate system.

CONTACTS

Contacts are reading on the sensors system on the 3D navigator. Many of these contacts can be flown to. Navigating to a contact on sensors will give many important details such as fuel usage, travel time, and more.

As your passive sensors pick up more targets, they will automatically be shown with a distance on the 3D navigator.

NOTE: The ship's current throttle WILL AFFECT TRAVEL AND FUEL ESTIMATES.

FLIGHT

Executing a navigation plan once one is confirmed will initiate the trip and start the burn to your target using constant acceleration.

No action is necessary on your part to continue flying, as the ship will navigate itself.

ABORTING PLANNING

It is possible to abort a plan mid flight or before flight. Doing so can leave you stranded in an unstable orbit, so it's important to only abort in flight if absolutely necessary.

Aborting while a plan is idle and not mid-execution is safe.

RE-ENTRY

When in orbit over a planet, navigate descend, navigate reentry, navigate descent will all begin the re-entry process that brings you back to the point where you left the atmosphere.
