Skillsofts are chips containing knowledge of a skill. When implanted your character gains access to that knowledge up to a certain skill level (this is dependent on the level of skillsoft chip you use).
Skillsofts require a skillsoft chipset cyberware to be installed. You can only use a limited number of skillsofts at a time, but you can swap them as needed.
A skillsoft is not additive. If you already have a certain amount of skill, the skillsoft does not add on top of that. It just maxes out at either the skill level of the soft, or of your character, which ever is higher.
WARNING The chips can be knocked right out of your skull by various IC actions (such as combat).
